Week 18 Letter from Elder Hills

Hi, family!

I can't believe you bought a tractor, that trailer axle breaking was a sign from God that you should have bought a car. What kind is it? Can you send some pictures when you get a chance? I need some motivation.  It's been a hard week. My MTC companion (who I really liked) went home and that was really hard on me. I wrote him a letter today, so we'll see if he writes back.

I heard the Pats are going to the Bowl! That would be pretty cool if they win.  I would lose my mind as pretty much the only Patriots fan out here. Should be good. I crashed my bike again and broke the chain. But worst of all, I hit my parts really hard and bruised the inside of my leg! It was really hard to walk after that and I almost threw up from the pain. Classic Jack "Hucker" Hills.

Isabel: Dang, that sounds like fun! I hated tests so much, but at least they're pretty much your last ones. You could skip finals if you're good ;)

Love you guys tons!  I'll see you around!

Week 17 Letter from Elder Hills

Ha! You had to drive all the girls to Vermont? I feel for you, sounds rough. How was it though?

I couldn't email yesterday because the library was closed. MLK day shuts stuff down! I'm going to miss Klondike, but we pretty much do Klondike every snow day. It's sooo hard.

Good for Jenna for winning! Has she been to church lately?

Eden is pretty creative with that kind of stuff, she might have that as a job later on in life. I hate decorating, it takes soo long, and sometimes the kids mess it up and ruin it. SO ANNOYING! Ok, so here's my problem, why are you buying a tractor instead of a car? Do you want to drive the Passat forever? Get a car!!!

We had an investigator family at church Sunday.  The kids had fun in their classes and it went well.

Overall, it's been a good week, but very very exhausting.

I love you guys!  I don't have any time to write anything else, my ride's leaving. Thanks for all you do for me and I really love you!

Week 16 Letter from Elder Hills

Hi guys!

Sorry I didn't get to write last Pday.  It was way short and way boring. I had to wait at the hospital for a couple hours to give someone a blessing.  So, that was ok.  But, I wish it wasn't on a pday. So I had my first baptism last Saturday, and IT WAS AWESOME! She's a little 10 year old girl and I'm really glad I got to teach her. I added a picture of us.

We also got a new bishop on Sunday, and we lost the best ward mission leader! He's the first counselor now, but he was literally the best mission leader in the world. I'll really miss him. He is a really great guy and it'll be hard replacing him.

So, why are you buying a tractor? A car is much more important than a tractor!  A 4-wheeler would do the same job! I think dad should get a car before he starts looking at tractors. Priorities... What kind of tractor would he get anyways?

Question and answer time:

1.  What the heck happened to you writing us last week?  We didn't realize you had p-day on Saturday!
I didn't have long to email, I only had about 10 minutes to email our president and look at some of my other emails.

2.  What are the answers to our questions from our last letter?
Ok here they are:
    1. I had to put new bars on it, my other ones broke when I fell down on some ice!
    2. Yea, but we do it anyways.
    3. I'm almost done already! I'm mostly through Alma, and I always stall out on Alma.

3.  Are you staying warm enough? It looks like you have a decently warm week ahead.
I'm trying to stay warm, it's not too bad, I manage.

4.  Are you back to biking?
I am back to biking! I like it though, it's a fun way to get around. My drive train is still broken, so I need to figure something out with that.

5. How do you cope with the tough parts of the mission?
I just enjoy the small things, I buy a case of MTN Dew every week, and drink it when I'm down. It works!

I love you guys!!  Thanks for all you guys do for me!

Isabel: Hi! Things are great! Thanks for ruining Rouge One for me by the way... Just kidding, I wanted to know how it was! Was Darth Vader as lame as everyone says he is? I heard he had a cheesy one liner after he choked someone, that's kind of lame. Have you driven in the snow yet? that was always my favorite part of winter, drifting :p Good luck with your midterms! I love you!

Ellie: Hi Ellie! You should get some ODI Vans lock on grips, I really liked those on my other bike. And we could match! I'll send you link. I just sent you a new letter on Friday, you might get it soon. It's pretty funny! I love you Ellie, have fun in school.

Week 13 Letter from Elder Hills

Hi, everyone-

Thanks guys for everything you do for me, it really means a lot! I don't have a lot of time today, for some reason we are going up to mission headquarters to get the mail. I don't know what's up. I miss playing stupid games with you guys, those were fun days!

Question and answer time:

1) I can skype at 12:30 my time, I can't wait!
2) Teaching has been pretty good, I'm a lot better now than I was! Studying can be  are kind of boring sometimes, but I am trying to read the Book of Mormon in 63 days, that's how long it took Joseph Smith to translate it. Jessie might like that.
3) I got your Dwayne Johnson mask package, thanks a ton! I love getting stuff from home, the Fourniers sent me something, too! They are so cute!
4) I am watching movies! Two G movies for Christmas!!

Thanks again for all you guys do, and remember, Audi with Quattro! I wish we had one right now, it was -6 last night, and my bike is getting more and more broken.  Now, the drive train is screwed up, wish me luck!

Ellie: Hi Ellie! I should get your letter today, we are allowed to get out mail on Mondays. I'm excited to read it! Keep looking for a nice bike so we can ride when I'm all done! I love you!

Isabel: Hey! It's been a fun week! Megamind might be a movie I want to watch on Christmas... The Great Decisions class is kind of annoying, that grade can sneak up on you! Just say something once a class to show you can participate and it works out. I'll see you in a week!
